Thomas F. Wetzel Jr. passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the age of 89 after a hard battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born April 15, 1937, in San Antonio, TX. He was a one-of-a-kind man and very special to his children and grandchildren, who miss him terribly. He was married to Hazel McDonald Wetzel for 66 years before Hazel passed on August 30, 2024. His career consisted of City Public Service for 30 years; by trade, he was a machinist. His all-time hobby was fishing and spending all his free time at the coast in Rockport, TX. He loved to fish with his family, most especially with his grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his sister Theresa, his daughter Donna, son Steve, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, and son, Tommy. Parents Janie and Thomas, and Sister Katherine.

The family has decided to forgo a funeral service and have a Celebration of Life on October 17, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the home of Thomas and Hazel Wetzel, 3719 Manchester Dr, San Antonio, TX.
